Mental Health Series Overview
Live and on-demand sessions that help parents better understand and support their child’s mental health and emotional well-being.
Through a partnership with the Cook Center for Human Connection, school districts can provide families with access to the Mental Health Series on ParentGuidance.org at no cost to parents. This resource offers informative and engaging sessions where parents can learn practical strategies, explore common parenting challenges, and connect with other families in a safe, anonymous virtual environment.
The Mental Health Series is designed to meet parents where they are by offering information in multiple formats that families can access live or on demand whenever they need support.
What Families Can Access
The Mental Health Series provides several ways for parents to learn and explore topics related to parenting and mental health.
• Live facilitated sessions on a variety of parenting and mental health topics
• On-demand recordings available anytime
• Instant Insights, which provide short summaries for quick learning
• Deep Dive sessions that explore topics in greater detail
Parents can browse the full library of sessions or register for upcoming events through the Mental Health Series calendar.
Special Monthly Events
In addition to the webinar library, the Mental Health Series includes special monthly events that provide additional opportunities for families to learn and connect.
Ask a Therapist Live
Once each month, families can join a live session with a licensed family therapist. During this event, parents can anonymously submit questions and receive real-time guidance from the therapist. This session provides an opportunity for parents who may be navigating a difficult situation to receive immediate, personalized support.
The Watch Together Project
Families are also invited to participate in The Watch Together Project, a facilitated session based on the animated series My Life is Worth Living. These sessions help parents and their children have meaningful conversations about important mental health topics and encourage connection during a critical stage of development.
Parents are encouraged to invite their teenage children to watch alongside them, creating opportunities for open dialogue and shared learning.
Districts are encouraged to share these events with families to increase awareness and participation.
