Ask a Therapist Overview

Expert guidance from licensed therapists who answer parent questions and support families navigating their child’s emotional well-being.

Parents and caregivers can receive guidance from licensed therapists through the Ask a Therapist feature on ParentGuidance.org. This resource allows families to submit mental health and parenting questions and receive thoughtful responses from professionals.

Questions cover a wide range of topics related to child development, emotional well-being, family relationships, and common challenges children and teens face today.

How It Works

Parents can submit their questions directly through the Ask a Therapist section on ParentGuidance.org.

• A licensed therapist reviews the question.
• The therapist records a video response to provide helpful insight and guidance.
• Each response includes a written transcript so families can easily read or revisit the information.

Explore Existing Questions

Families can also browse a growing library of over 200 previously answered questions from other parents and caregivers.

These responses provide expert insight on topics such as:

• Anxiety and stress
• Bullying and peer relationships
• Behavior challenges
• Social media and technology concerns
• Parenting strategies and family communication

Submit a Question

Families can submit their own questions by clicking the “Submit Question” button located on the left side of the Ask a Therapist page.

Once submitted, a licensed therapist will review the question and provide a response that becomes part of the public resource library for other families to learn from.
